I'd like to start a new thread, on the topic of the updated Home Page. Hopefully by now, most of you have gotten adjusted to it and (even better) have found reasons to actually like the new landing page!! Most importantly, I'd really like to push forward with the updated forums sooner than later - and so I'd very much like to get this phase settled, as best I can.
Regardless of your personal feelings on the new page, I'm taking another stab at fielding feedback from the community on this and my expectation is that you have gotten all the, "I HATE IT!!!" posts, out of your system. I seriously do NOT want you posting your overall opinions in here - I'm beyond caring about that kind of stuff, and there's an entire other thread for that type of discussion. I want this thread to solely be centered around specific feedback regarding the page.
What kind of feedback, you might ask?
- Anything that is flat-out broken or doesn't work at all. BUGS!!!!
- Formatting issues (things not lining up correctly, sized weird, etc.).
- Suggestions for things we can improve (please be specific - do NOT post, "I don't like this!" without at least following up with a suggestion or two).
There was never any claim that the new page was bug-free and not up for debate as to ways to improve it. Trucks and I have been incredibly willing to hunt down bugs and find ways to implement your suggestions - so long as you are respectful and your criticisms are constructive, I think you will always find that we're willing to work with you all.
I can tell you that the decision to move forward with the mobile framework is the one thing that is definitely not up for debate - that decision is probably the only one that is etched in stone, and it will not change. This site has already been transitioning to that framework for quite some time now (the GameDB and Prediction League have both been utilizing the mobile framework from the very beginning - albeit, those pages still need some clean-up as well), and we are going to continue pushing forward with that effort.
Lastly - if you are reporting bugs or formatting issues, I will ask that you please include within your post:
- browser and version
- mobile or desktop
Thank you, everyone for your patience!!! :)
