This is in the political section because it has political repercussions and often reasoning's therefore correctly categorized. One would need to be deluded to not expect Trump to start Twittering this event or make a speech tomorrow (later today).

That being said this is absolutely a nightmare. We just had a terrorist attack in my city last night that was quite horrendous but nothing even remotely on this scale. Do they know if the suspect has ties to Isis or if this was perpetrated by an American born citizen?

Local resident + asian partner named Marilou Danely (but she can be totally innocent and I suspect so). Name also says nothing about origin Danely is more common in Denmark for males and Mariou is only a bit more popular as a name in France than USA...

That's not good. Hopefully they detain her and get motivations and information out of her. No doubt they will try to do so since the shooter is dead.

I've been watching news feeds and mundane matt's channel since I've heard about it. Playing some games I'm listening to it. Honestly, I hope it's just some crazy person and it's not politically motivated or something along those lines.

I’m going to go out on a limb (and I can’t believe this is going out on a limb) and say that guns should be illegal in the USA. Actually, in countries where guns are illegal this kind of shit is super rare. Is it that crazy to believe outlawing guns would decrease gun violence? I don’t think so.

I’m tired of the excuses. As an American, if the people who died were people that were close to you or people you loved, would you still feel guns are a necessity in the USA?

Gun culture is inherently violent, and isn’t worth supporting. Even the responsible kind.

Thankfully, it seems as though the person was just crazy

Would you rather it be politically motivated?

Marilou Danley is being sought for questioning re the investigation into the active shooter incident. If seen please call 9-1-1!

I wasn't sure if you're being serious with your reply to me or if it was sarcastic. I had to ask.

When will you Americans learn about Gun Control? It does work.

The problem is beyond gun control. There are too many souls living here and in  In a semi-free market there also comes a black market (obviously because its not completely free). You cannot stop people in America from getting guns, no less than you can stop illegal drug trade. Take away the guns too and no one will be able to defend themselves. American has been entrenched in gun culture since its inception.

It's not too many people living in the US, it's how guns are a common thing over there. The first US city with the highest population density is New York, positioned at 24th. Compare it to China or India where there the population is far higher than the US and then the US still comes out on top with both of them combined and then some. And then some. And then some.

Guns aren't the problem, the people who are wielding them are. So take away the guns. If that isn't possible stop wondering why these shooting keep on happening while anyone can buy a gun or use their friend's/family's gun.

Not anyone can buy a gun legally. It's very controlled and watched. If it's an automatic rifle then it's an illegal gun which he got through the black market. Legal guns are not the problem. It's the illegal ones. It's impossible to remove guns in america. If they focus on closing the illegal gun channels then most of the shootings would stop.
