Turns out the footage of the missile test was 7 months old: http://www.news.com.au/world/middle-east/us-officials-say-irans-latest-missile-launch-was-fake/news-story/b462e11ab0dbcd8b109be50d0286491b

This is not about the political nature of this particular story. But rather about why this guy who has the CIA at his fingertips, who can validate the authenticity of any story for him, doesn't use the resources he has available, and keeps falling for these fake news stories? "3 million people voted illegaly for Hillary", etc.
Most people learn from their past mistakes. Especially if they have so many eyes on them. It's pretty bizzare honestly.

Clearly the CIA hates him as well and rather not give him the correct information lol.  I mean if I worked at the CIA i wouldn't tell Trump anything and let him stay stupid lol  Wouldn't you?

Or maybe they're the ones who gave him this info to make him look bad?

I dont think anybody needs to do anything to make him look bad.  He does that all on his own xD

I believe that Trump still does not understand what it means to be President instead of reality TV star. When you tweet policy before going through the proper channels is irresponsible but he continues to use his tweeter account as official business.

Tweet went out September 23. Link dated September 26.

Also, I don't see a mention of any footage in Trump's tweet.

I am not sure if I understand correctly, but you play on the notion that 7 months is too old for it to happen "just" recently?

Or do you mean the missile start itself is faked?

Because he's an agenda-driven liar whose followers want to elevate him to "great leader" status?

Click on the link he provided.  It explains it all.  The actual launch is fake.  Its as if the Iranians produced a fake video just for Trump to make an idiot out of himself.  Maybe he should not be so quick to use tweeter before fact checking.

I'd be surprised if the link was dated any earlier than 26th. The article is reporting that Trump was duped by 7 month old video footage of a launch shown on state TV on the 22nd, after it was revealed on the 25th that no such launch occurred on that date.

Or perhaps he know it is fake but doesn't care and want to use that anyway.

Trump's tweet came one day after Iranian state television released video footage claiming to show the launch of a new type of medium-range ballistic missile, a few hours after it was displayed during a military parade in Tehran.
Turns out there was no missile test, and the footage was 7 months old: http://www.news.com.au/world/middle-east/us-officials-say-irans-latest-missile-launch-was-fake/news-story/b462e11ab0dbcd8b109be50d0286491b

Probably because he only takes briefings in picture book format.
