Was thinking how amazing it'd be if every 3-6 months we get updates to the game with new main quests, side quests, cutscenes, new gear and other things to do. Sold for like $5-10 per update or season pass for the whole thing.

Quest updates kinda like FFXIV, nothing too big but just enough to keep you playing for a few more hours. And then a major expansion 1-1.5 year after titled FFXV-2 with new party members (gimme Aranea's backstory!). There's so much more they can do with the world.

Heard a rumor this is what Destiny 2 is actually going to do. It'll have the major yearly expansions, and smaller, faster updates.

Destiny is an MMO though (to a degree), so in order to keep people playing, they need to release updates to keep them buying and playing. FFXV isn't and in turn doesn't need to try and keep people playing. While the idea might be good for some, the development time needed might be better spent actually making a XV-2... or just spent making a new game in the series that will sell millions guaranteed (instead of a few hundred thousand sales of DLC).

That's what I think FFVIIR is going to be like.

in FFXV we just explored one region of the entire world, but in FF7 we have the entire globe to run around in, even under the sea exploration. Will they make a FFXV expansion? Who knows, but I just hope they don't pull Nomura away from his project to help them on theirs, that'll piss me off cause they've been doing that to him to many times.

This isn't a good idea. I don't want to replay the game for new content. I think the episodic structure is more likely to succeed and they will use that approach on Final Fantasy VII remake.

Sorry I don't like this idea, I would rather they make a game and move on to the next one. The longer these devs are caught up in an old project the longer we have to wait for the next game they'll be producing.

Or not? Just let it be its own thing. A lot of people enjoyed it, a lot people didnt. Like any other game in the world. Lets just move on to the next thing thats hopefully not gonna take 8 years to make.
