The tie ratio of Splatoon bodes well for the next installment.

Mario Kart had a 33% tie ratio on the GC. The following gen it retook the racing crown from Gran Turismo.

Smash took the fighting crown from Tekken with a 33% tie ratio and has remained king ever since.

Splatoon has already beat Halo making it the leader in first party shooters this gen. If Nintendo can achieve 70m+ sales (wiiU/3DS) with Switch then a continued attach ratio of 33% would see sales of 23m v combined X1/PS4 CoD:BO3 sales of 22m. If CoD begins/continues to decline and Splatoon is just as popular on a 70-100m console, then Nintendo will have successfully reclaimed the shooter crown (Goldeneye).

Tie ratio isn't really a good predictive tool. Very few series' sales rise in proportion to hardware sales.

So people tell you halo 5 has outsold Splatoon in the other thread due to digital sales and you decide to create this thread in response and completely ignore them, nice one!

Not only that but you don't even mention Digital in this thread, even though it was created in response to the digital comments in the other thread. xD

It's a good tool for measuring breakout hits and suggests game sales are constrained by hardware sales.

A higher selling followup console is the only way to see for sure.

Suggesting that Halo 5 Digital sales are less than 30k more than Splatoon Digital sales is ludicrous.

Xbox Live Marketplace vs WiiU Eshop, it's not a contest.

There was competition, just nothing notable on home consoles.

For splatoon to even come close to Halo is just..... WOW!
