Forums - Gaming - Infinite warfare Ultimate Edition $100 / Battlefield 1 = $130?!!

Tagged games:

So I'm really lazy when it comes to pre ordering gaming shit.  I've finally bothered to ask an American friend to get me USA psn cards to pre order some games on my American account.

So the main two games I want are battlefield 1 and infinite warfare.  Preferably I'd get the ultimate editions of both.

So the IW ultimate edition costs $100 which is €90 for me.  For that I get a campaign I'm hyped for,  space zombies that look funky,  multiplayer which I'm not really hyped for,  Cod4 campaign and online which I'm super hyped for,  and the season pass which will bring maps to cod4, zombies and IW in future.

Considering my local gamestop is charging €70 for the base game getting the ultimate edition on psn for €90 is a good deal for me.

So next up is battlefield 1. I'd like to get the ultimate edition.  So with that I'll get an awesome campaign,  awesome multiplayer and the season pass.  Price?  $130!!! A whole $30 more than cod and they're offering less.  Looks like it will be the base game at $60 for me and in future (probably next summer)  I'll get the season pass for $25/30 on sale.

It's all about value for me and when you can get the base game for a reasonable $60 I am in my fuck going to pay $70 extra when the only actually content I want additional is the season pass.  Am I missing something here because $130 seems absurd!

Yeah that's the big problem with Battlefield 1. $130 is impossible to pay.

I am so sad, and the release day is almost upon us. What to do?

Well I'm getting the ultimate cod edition for $100 and the regular battlefield 1 edition for $60 now.  As I said,  I'll get battlefield 1 premium  on sale next summer.

For comparison with the EU PSN:

Ultimate Cod edition $100 vs €110

Ultimate B1 edition $130 vs not listed on EU store yet.

As you can see I'm saving €20 by getting cod on the American store as opposed to the EU.

But I wanna have the Utimate edition of BF1 and the awesome DLC maps..

That's why I'm just spending $80 on IW LE, and $60 on the standard BF1. 3 full games, and if I like them, I'll get the DLC. Otherwise, I've learned my lesson about buying Season Passes and spending money on extra cosmetic crap. The only exception I'm making is the Horizon: Zero Dawn LE because that Aloy statue looks awesome and will go great with my Kratos and Nathan Drake ones lol

Battlefield 1's  Season pass (PC) is more expensive than the actual game (console). I don't understand. Why would they charge the same, or even more, for something that is 100% digital ?

Well, if it's too much, wait for a price drop. It the price is too great - and I agree it is for both games - wait a few months and it will drop by 25-50%.

I would advise against investing in a season pass before you know how good the base game is exactly, in any event. Unless the game comes from a developer with a stellar reputation, I think it wise to wait for reviews, player feedback, and/or a heavy discount. Remember that a lot of these games have technical issues at launch and under-deliver on pre-launch promises.

Not for me. If I were to buy either, it would be the base game and I wouldn't download any DLC. I made my stance years ago and I'm sticking to it.

They can say what they want, COD4 Remastered WILL see an independent release. They'll just wait until sales slow up first to do it. People will rage who forked over all that money initially, and people like me will be like... check mate.

I only know of an $80 IW version that does not come with the season pass, and a $110 version that does.

If I were into Battlefield I wouldn't have a problem paying a little premium for their season pass, they tend to go all out with DLC where as with CoD you're basically saving $10 on usually shitty map packs. And you get the free CoD4 content whether you have the season pass or not. That is, unless they went back on earlier plans.

I'm going to wait for the premium to get a price cut.

Look at battlefront.  $50 season pass.  A month ago they had it on sale for $30. Only 2/4 expansions had released.  So if you waited you could have got it for $30,  played the 2 released expansions and then waiting for the last 2. Personally I thought $110 for battlefront ultimate edition was worth it but not $130 for battlefield 1 ultimate.
