- FFVIIR producer Yoshinori Kitase talked in this week's issue of Famitsu about Final Fantasy VII Remake and what this year means for the development of the game/episode

- he said:

“I believe that this year will still be a year of preparations for Final Fantasy VII Remake,”

- apparently something special is coming for the PS4 version:

“I’d like to create a new kind of value for the hardware that is the PlayStation 4 for our next announcement.”

Well, he doesn't actually say anything about delaying it, but I wouldn't that surprised to see its release fall into 2017. FF7 was released in January, so maybe they're hoping to launch it earlier in 2017.

if all the games that are supposed to come out this year are actually doing so, i think there should be enough to play for everyone in 2016. ff7r not releasing this year shouldn't hurt nor surprise anybody.

Expected/hoped as FFXV will likely be released this year so it only makes sense to have FF7R next year.

Hmm, and I had the impression that it might have had a chance this year, but I am not surprised for it to be expected in 2017. To have a part of it ready so soon? I doubt it.

Wasn't expecting it to come out anytime soon.

I was thinking maybe the end of 2016 at the absolute earliest, but I guess not.
