Forums - Sony Discussion - Until Dawn is great

It actually is. I was surprised too. Played it during a trip to a friend's house and we had so much fun. It took us 2 long days to beat it and it was always fun, intense and appealing. I would rate it a good 7.5~8.0 for sure.

PS exclusives this year are underrated as hell. Tearaway Unfolded is another example of this... everyone ignores it.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

Its an awesome game, the story is very well crafted, it looks nice and the choice system was implemented better than on most games of this genre. My personal ratting for it is 9.0. Liked it as much as I did Heavy Rain and more than I did Walking Dead (both seasons), Wolf Among Us and beyond Two Souls but less than Im liking Life is Strange (to put it in perspective).

I'm waiting for a good sale to pick it up. Maybe during the holidays. Busy with MGSV at the moment.

This game is at the top of my "Must Buy When I Get a PS4" list.

Tearaway Unfolded is surely, surely going to be the core of a well promoted "family bundle" for the holidays. Sony owuld be stupid to concentrate all their efforts on the shooty shooty fanbase. Their "exclusive" entries in the holidays so far are Star Wars (exclusive marketing), Destiny (exclusive marketing), Uncharted (exclusive game), CoD (exclusive marketing). Star Wars normally has familky appeal to it, but Battlefront being a MP only shooter doesn't have any sort of family appeal. Tearaway is their diversity play. Until Dawn is a diversity play too of course, and I could see perhaps an Until Dawn / Bloodborne "horror" bundle being something too, 2x 2015 non-remaster exclusives.

I keep imagining I could get a game that my wife would enjoy spectating, but I doubt I could ever get her to spectate a game really. So if I get Until Dawn I'll have to just get it for me and be pretty certain I'd enjopy it as a solo experience. trouble is I don;t really like watching horror movies solo so...

Picked up Until Dawn after seeing a bit of youtube footage which blew me away, and have played it non stop. It has beautiful visuals, compelling story and is very atmospheric. I must admit that this wasn't on my radar, but im sure glad I let my curiosity got the better of me. Yet another great PS4 exclusive

Thanks for seeing the light :) Ive done nothing but praise it from the moment I started playing. Instant classic imo.

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

I admit the game is much better than I thought it was going to be too.

This to me is the perfect game for a group or couples to play together.

Great atmosphere, great graphics, creepy setting.

If you have a ps4, and are tired of the same old franchises, you owe it yourself to buy this game. It really is the surprise hit of the year.

This too, my only regret was playing it alone :( I got two of my buddies to play the games first two chapters once I was done and hillarity ensued, its a blast.

This is becoming my favourite genre and having played all of them, I gotta ask. How do you feel about the voice acting in Life is Strange? I quite liked the game, but I find it hard to enjoy it every time the voice actress who plays Max delivers a line. Easily the worst voice acting I've experienced in a story driven video game. Other than that the game (based on the demo) seemed pretty awesome.

Until Dawn is awesome, my wife and I played this entire weekend, we just couldn't stop. And then when we finished we went ahead and started it again.
The first time only three people survived, who would have thought that one seemingly insignificant move can spell death five chapters later.

My GOTY definitely.

I'm still surprised how well the game is received

I watched Markiplier playing it and he kept bitching throughout the game about tropes and lazy writing but when one of his favorite characters got killed he got so pissed at himself that he swore he would go back to play the whole game again to save her before he continued

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”
