This video has been in my head for a few years, finally got the chance to make it after getting decent video editing software.

I love the XX, and that song is amazing, but I don´t think it fits with the video
The lyrics and the voice made me nauseous to be honest. I'd probably like the song better without vocals.

That's exactly what my wife said lol.
Have you played MGS3? I have a strong emotional attachment to it and understand the story and chemistry between the characters and think it fits pretty well, or it could be just me.
Plus I love contrasting things. I like the idea of a love song playing over violent scenes. And even though it's violent, there is a underlying love relationship between Eva, Boss and Snake.

I have never completed it, so maybe that´s why I´m not feeling it. The edition and the scenes are nice though.
I came here thinking i'd see Big Boss fights some angles.

The cuts are pretty good but I don't think the song fits in very well with a lot of the action.

Yeah I ran into a few problems. I want to add more vocals parts, especially Eva's speech at the end about why the Boss did what she did but most of the really emotional parts already had a music overlaying it that would clash with my music track. I wanted the last part to be all about the the flower field and the events leading up (and after) to Boss's death and the final sound to be the gun shot. That meant important events that happened after (field turning red, snake standing over her body, saluting grave) had to be added before. But I think that it is cool to hope back and forth events (and time) before ending on why those events happened.
But yeah a lot of the emotional connection is lost without the vocals. I just couldn't get them without the MGS music in the background. Tried a few techniques to cut out the music but didn't work
Some good feedback guys and I like constructive criticism, I like to know what you think and why you think it. Thanks for watching my video though. Any ideas for next MGS project would also be welcome.
