Forums - Sony - is the PlayStation TV a Cartridge based Console like the N64?

- its built like a console and plugged to your TV and only supports a dualshock controller.

- it supports a lot of physical Vita games who are made on Cartridges.

So is this Sonys first Cartridge based console? and the first since the N64?

Never thought of it like that. I like the way you think. So, I'll go with yes, Sony finally has a cartridged based home console.

This is the beggining of the end for CD-DVD based consoles. We'll go back to the glorious cartriges, less heat for the system and less loading times.

No, cartriges. That way, it will ocupy less space and the NX will have a clear mode of working as a handheld and a home console. Fusion all the way!

Cartridges can save your progress since 1987 or something xD without the need for memory cards.

So nope :)   must be something else

Yeah it really is a cartridge console. I own one. If nintendos new console goes cartridge I'll buy for sure. Would be pretty sweet.
