There's no need. Capcom already made a game akin to the Souls game but with personality of its own:

Mimicking someones success doesn't necessarily guarantee success.

It's pretty risky. It's lost money for Sony if this doesn't work. Not to mention the endless bashing it will receive for being a Monster Hunter clone.

Partially agree: it shouldn't be a clone, but a game that like MH or Pokémon exploit some borderline obsessive-compulsive mechanism in gamers, pushing them to buy more and more games of the franchise to get more and more items or monsters or else. DS, 3DS, PSP and PSV HW and SW sales seem to show that portables particularly need such games, but a clone wouldn't go very far, it must be something new that in common with MH and Pokémon just have a carefully devised way to exploit such mental mechanisms, and around that devs must build great games to increase the appeal and hide the underlying psychological exploit.

Haven't there already been MH clones? They still sell but nowhere near the level of MH.

Playstation allready has 3 monster hunter similiar games: tokiouden, soul secrefice and god eater. They get better with each game and grow in sales while monster is declining with each game. So i dont think its necessary.

They have a bunch of clones like Ragnorock on Vita and Soul Sacrifice God Eater Touikoden and more. Can just get a couple of those ported.

Okay, we all have pipe dreams, but this one sounds not popular and not needed.

Dunno about the MH team, but isn't Capcop making a soul-esque game called Deep Down? Supposed to be Free to Play ps4 exclusive with souls like gameplay and MMO elements? Havn't heard anything about the game in a while... but I remember hearing a while back ago that it was going to come to the states and not just remain a Japanese exclusive.

This game is seriously under appreciated imo. There are some things that could be sorted out(feels a little long in the tooth sometimes, dunno how else to explain it), but the combat was pretty unique and overall an excellent experience. Jumping and clinging onto giant monster while you and your team try to bring the beast down was super satisfying... even if the story was kinda bleh.
