So I just wanted to download Mario Kart 8 DLC but my WiiU console that has 850MB of free space says I cant download the 687,9MB DLC because I dont have enough free space.

Wth is this?


Also can one finally change the download directory from internal flash  to  usb drives?

The whole Nintendo download system is crap. (I lost 1 game because I had not enough free space on my 3DS but since I already entered the download code I was 100% sure the eSHOP understood that its activated. But I had to find out that unless you actually download it the code is not used and so my 3DS download code expired! YAY!)

Both my 32GB WiiU and my 16GB flash drive are "full". They have around 850 /800 MB of free space left but I cant move anything because most of the stuff is either to small to make a difference (savegames etc) or is  a full retail game that is up to 10GB of size (W101)

I do have a 64GB SDXC card but I cant save anything from the eShop on that thing. Its completely retarded.

Yeah, they really didn't plan ahead when introducing such a small internal hdd. Nintendo games are not the same size as XBO or PS4 but a 250gb hard drive should have at least been implemented.

I just have a whole bunch of Demo's and free stuff on my 32gb Wii U.

I have about 25gb left.

But then the question remains "what does he delete after" to make room for 101 again :P

Pawns MK8 ???? Blasphemy!  With the new DLC it went from a 9 to an 11/10 for me. 

Use a USB HDD I guess, it's what everyone else uses. They're pretty cheap nowadays, grab a 250GB for £20/$25 and you'll never run out of space.

Not sure what you mean about change download directory? If you have a USB drive plugged in with available space, I believe it always uses that in place of the internal, that's what mine does anyway, I have literally no apps on my internal, I even moved the Youtube/Netflix/Lovefilm apps over to my USB HDD.

Well, I'm hoping that we have a similar transfer system for whatever Nintendo's next console is as we did for Wii to WiiU; except with the ability to transfer DLC as well. Hopefully they don't "shit the bed" on hdd size for next gen.
