Forums - Sony Discussion - No upgrade discount for The Last of Us Remastered

Tagged games:

Sony will not offer a discount to those buying The Last of Us Remastered on PlayStation 4 who already own The Last of Us on PlayStation 3, it has confirmed.

In April Naughty Dog's Eric Monacelli responded to a fan question regarding a discount for those who had already splashed out on the PS3 game (and perhaps also a season pass) less than a year ago, saying the developer was "looking into the business model for all this".

Now, Sony has confirmed there won't be an upgrade available.

"Alas, there is no upgrade discount," wrote Sony Computer Entertainment's Fred Dutton in response to a user question on the PlayStation Blog.

No reason to give one anyway....

yeah, they should give me a 15 euro/dollar digital version of the game that's only starting when you have the ps3 version in your ps4.
i'd upgrade.

shame on me: i have the game since launch, played it like 4 hours, stopped playing because i wanted to wait for the perfect weekend for it.

must-have-list for platforms i don't own yet:

WiiU: Donkey Kong

XBone: Dead Rising 3, Ryse

Price is still low with expansion so idk.

Good Guy Sony doesn't want you to buy the same game twice.

Outrageous! I borrowed the PS3 version from a friend and now they expect me to pay money for it AGAIN?

What a cheap cash grab! It should be free anyway!

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

- George Orwell, ‘1984’

But I thought the point of this was for people who didn't have a PS3 and didn't play the original?

Never played it on PS3, but I did GTA V and I wouldn't expect to get a discount on that If I decide to buy it.

PS, PS2, Gameboy Advance, PS3, PSP, PS4, Xbox One

I'm not sure if this is supposed to be a joke? The exclamation points makes me thing it's a joke.

That's too bad, if it was a 10 dollar upgrade like some games were at launch I would have repurchased the game.
