Forums - Gaming Discussion - Curious about the hype for Bayonetta

Tagged games:

To keep it short, I loved Vanquish and bought Bayonetta. Bayonetta has a bigger fan-base, but playing it.....I don't get it. Why do people like Bayonetta? I'm just curious that out of all of Platinum Game's IP's, why is Bayonetta the "big" one?

Maybe Vanquish was a 1 off hit for me, but I liked Mad World too and I'm looking forward to playing Metal Gear Rising.

Complete it and you will know.

I've never played it, but it and Bayonetta 2 look really fun!

Never looked that good to me, but you are right that it has gotten some rave reviews... I might have to check it out on the wii u when it gets cheap...

It's soo long though, I'm only on Ch4 and I read there are 16 chapters plus an epilogue. I'll beat it though, Vanquish was a really good game so this deserves a proper shot. If I don't love it after a playthrough though, I might just stick to their other works.

Nothing wrong with that, I don't have to love EVERYTHING a good studio makes.

I don't know about bigger fanbase but it definitely has a cult following. Mainly because it's weird and there is nothing like it. I was absolutely flashed when I played it. But that was definitely not because of the gameplay, but rather the story and settings and general weirdness.

It's so much more than what people saw in the trailers.

I have good news for you then. Bayonetta is basically free if you buy Bayonetta 2. That's as cheap as a game can get.

Yeah, im thinking more like both for $30 cheap...

That certainly will send a strong message to Nintendo about how valuable it is for them to invest in M-rated games. I hope you'll enjoy all the Mario spinoff games you'll get in the future.

Well crap, if they want me to spend full price, they need to make a more appealing game!  I'm not going to spend $60 bucks on a game that I'm not that excited about...  Both w101 and bayonetta were bad investments in my opinion...

Sigh...

The typical Nintendo fanboy excuse for not buying anything that has not plastered Mario on the box.

Whatever!  I have heard all sorts of nintendo fans defend zombie u, even though that game was garbage!

plus, games with link plastered on the box are way better!

I blew through the game in roughly a day, and I only doing that for really good games.

I guess it's just preference.
