Yu-Gi-Oh! is heading to the 3DS for the first time on June 26th, in the upcoming card-battling title Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal World Duel Carnival. This will also be the first game set in the Zexal universe, and will follow the likes of Yuma, Tori, Kite and Shark as they try to win the World Duel Carnival.
There are 11 playable characters in total, each with their own story and bespoke card decks, meaning that users can jump straight into the action with their favourite character. World Duel Carnival is a great game for first-time Yu-Gi-Oh! players, with step-by-step tutorials and an Easy Mode allowing users to get to grips with the game’s mechanics, before going on to learn more complex strategies. More experienced players, meanwhile, will want to build their own custom deck, and the game allows users to do precisely this, with over 5,500 unique cards to build it from.
Expect the game to take full advantage of the handheld’s glasses-free 3D capabilities, with card activation animations popping out of the screen during battles, and beautifully drawn anime cut scenes in between duels for users to enjoy. The bottom screen, meanwhile, will allow players to manipulate the Duel Field with intuitive touch screen controls.
World Duel Carnival will be available for the 3DS either in physical cartridge format, or as a digital download via the eShop, both of which have a RRP of €39,95. The boxed version comes with three exclusive collectible cards too: Snow Plow Hustle Rustle, Night Express Knight and Special Schedule! You can read the full press release below:
