So I have roughly 12 hours or so with the game. Which is an average of 6 goddamn hours a day. I don't think I have spent that much time a day on a game since Modern Warfare. But I digress. Here are my thoughts.

Campaign:
Great idea, flawed execution. The writing is nice, the voice actors for the most part do a great job. I know their community manager who has a lot of ink voiced Sarah, she sucks and it kind of takes away from the campaign imho. Imagine if Frankie Munez or whatever was cast as Red in Shawshank Redemption. What the fuck? I don't know if they did it to save time or money or both or if they thought she was good, but she kind of sticks out like a sore thumb. Another good analogy, Gina Carano in Fast 6. Her acting was so bad they literally simplified all of her lines down to simple facial expressions of "happy" or "not pleased". Sadly this wouldn't work in a video game for obvious reasons.

Aside from that flaw, the writing and voice acting are great. I think given more time to make the sequel, they could really flesh out the idea of an online campaign. I think there needs to be different cut scenes for whether you win or lose. I don't expect branching storylines that change depending on whether or not you win a round of TDM, but if I am the Militia and I am trying to raid fuel depots (aka Domination), if my team loses 400-120, I shouldn't have somehow still managed to get some fuel. On the flip side of that if I am on the IMC and I am trying to stop the Militia from gassing up and I win 400-120, I should get some sense of accomplishment.

As a result you kind of feel detached from the story becasuse you have no involvement whatsoever. Like Indiana Jones in Raiders, the story would play out the same whether you are there or not. Just something they can improve on the sequel. Oh, and the ending totally sets up a sequel!

Multiplayer.
The real meat and potatoes of this game. And good thing, because as meh as the campaign was, the MP makes up for it and more.

Pilot play - One of the best things about the game and the main thing that shatters any "LOL COD WITH MEKS" nonsense is the movement of the Titans. One of the coolest things about the game is I would say 75% of the maps probably could have been ripped right out of CoD. But the way you can move with the Pilots makes them play 110% different. Being spawn camped? How can you be spawn camped when you can run on fucking walls? And every single weapon feels balanced. And you know what else? This game has virtually eliminated ADS for me. I'm rocking it old school Halo style and never even aiming down the sights.

Titan play - Again, the key here is balance. There are loads of cool little gadgets and kits and abilities to unlock,  but everything has a counter. Whne the game first launched I was wrecking people with the rail gun. But people have adapted and realized you can circle strafe and render it pretty much useless in CQC. Everyone uses something different. Another nice change of pace from your typical CoD or Battlefield or Killzone. There are no favorites or overpowered shit.

Quick breakdown of game modes:

Attrition - Love it. The addition of the creepers adds a whole new element to the gameplay. I like using them as bait.
Domination - Classic FPS mode. The map design really makes this one shine. Each map is designed perfectly for Titan and Pilot combo play.
CTF - Hate it. I think if they changed it so a flag carrier inside a Titan drops the flag if his Titan is put into doom state, it would be a lot  better. As it is, on many of the maps its far too easy to take it, hop in the Titan and go. And if you get doomed, eject out and fly to your base.
Last Titan Standing - The greatest of all modes. SnD was my favorite MW/MW2 mode, this is like a perfect replacement. All about strategy and teamwork. And the creepers play a huge role here too as you can farm them for quicker core abilities.
Pilot Hunter - Basically Attrition with creeper kills not counting. Just as good as Attrition imho, but with less emphasis/importance on the creepers.

Just a quick review. We'll see how things shape up in the future as I put more time into the game. About to hit regen mode, 4 levels away.

I like playing hardpoint. Too many camping bitches in attrition.

Xbone... the new "N" word   Apparently I troll MS now | Evidence | Evidence

LOL I saw my first camper late last night in Attrition camping by the turret on that night time map, Airfield maybe? I forget the name. Killed him 4 times.

Forgot to put a score. I'd give it a 9 right now.

I already knew what you were gonna give it before it even launched.
Your sig might have something to do with it.

A retort is coming when I'm done sifting through the salt. Stand by.

I like the review it is full of all the online cussing we know and love. Gina Carino is an mma fighter turned actress because she is attractive so I do not expect much from her. Sounds as good as most have written. Not on playstation.

I don't understand what this means. It's spray-and-pray? Because I like aiming ..

I was pleasantly surprised by campaign.

Basically I went in with high expectations, started thinking it was a joke, and then it turned around to impress me.

Spoiler:

The militia intro with everyone storming the map was when it started pulling me back in. That was pretty cool! Then at the end dropping from space in a pod, just wow.

All in all I thought campaign was great for a FPS. Better than COD and BF ones. I do agree about feeling unimportant though. You were just a random pilot experiencing the war verses being a part of it.

Another spoiler:

Remember that map that explodes at the end, killing everyone? That just felt really really weird. Gamers are used to dying over and over, but they just respawn. That was a story based death though so it felt different. I expected it to be the end of the campaign. I was dead after all. Then it wasn't. During campaign I think every time we die during a match, we're respawning as a different pilot. I guess that's why in the story we couldn't really participate.
