Forums - PC Discussion - PC smartoes of the 'charz, I summon you to give answer to my problem.

I'll start of by saying: Yes, I get it, this should be on some sort of a support forum. But I've done some searching and I've only found one guy having the same problem as I have, and the only fix he found was to change the internet provider, which I want to avoid (as they probably are the best in my area). As these support forums isn't always populated with masses I decided to go for the biggest crowd of actual intellectual PC gamers, as my hope is that at least one knows a way to fix this.

Well then, onto the problem. My laptop, an Asus Aspire V5 - 552PG (windows 8) does not connect to the internet, but I only have this problem in the morning. I've never heard of anything like it. And it doesn't seem to be my router, as my Samsung galaxy, galaxy tab, my HP school laptop and my 3DS can all connect to this router in the morning (and later), even though the PC I'm currently typing on can't. But as said, only in the morning. Sometime during the day it seems to fix itself, and it all works fine, no  slowdowns or nothing. All I have to do when I get back from school is to test the connectivity, let it run for approx. 2 seconds and it's all fine again. I've had this problem for roughly a month now. Have someone encountered something similar?

Hopefully this isn't wasting your time, or the space on the Vgchartz frontpage, but I'm certainly no tech guy and I have no idea what to do. :P

Edit: Superchunk seems to know his shit. :D I tried restarting the PC after changing the time, and it worked. I don't think it was the restarting, asI have done that before, but there might be a possibility of that being it as well, but it seems to be the clock. I can't find any settings saying anything about parental controlls or anything though, nor do I know why they would be activated (I didn'thave this problem  before). I'll check it when I get home.

have you tried turning it off and on again?

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

As a fellow Norwegian, let me ask you one important question; which provider do you have? Would it happen to be Get or Canal Digital?

Nope, Telenor. I don't think you can find any better where I live (Nordfjord).

That was the first thing I did. The first time I turned of the router, on again and it didn't work. Found out that my phone and other laptop both worked, tried turning on and off the PC, didn't work. Then I went to school, came back, and everything worked perfectly. I repeated this for a couple of days until I turned to the "wait and see" solution, and since that didn't work, here I am. :D

I also sensed a slight hint of sarcasm in your post, but I'll let it slide.

Some sort of energy saving feature? Try with power cord connected and change settings on energy saving on control panel or asus app

Haven't though of that before, but my computer is actually unplugged right now, so it doesn't seem like a energy saving feature. I'll chech the control panel just in case though.

Any way to get a physical wire connection? Powerline adapters?

I should be able to do that, but I don't see why it should be necessary, as it, as I mentioned works in the evening. I might be wrong, but it doesn't seem to be a hardware problem.

I would suggest taking the laptop over to where the router is and trying to connect without any distance

I'd force a change to date/time in your laptop to see if it strictly has something to do with "mornings" as far as the laptop is concerned.

You could also try a different router.

These two tests should allow you to determine if its settings within the laptop or the router. Then you can at least focus on only one culprit.

Once you have it narrowed down you can check things like drivers and any possible settings.

Maybe laptop parental settings that turn off network connectivity between certain hours, etc.
