Alongside Mario Kart 8.

This is 100% rumor right now, so please take it as just that. According to Nintendo’s German general manager, the firm is looking to release two of their biggest games in the Spring: Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros for Wii U.  

“For next spring two more big license games are also announced for our TV console with Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros.” 

Die Wii U konnte bisher nicht an den Erfolg ihres Vorgängers anknüpfen. Woran liegt das?

FAKESCH: Die Wii U ist beim Start in der Tat hinter unseren Erwartungen zurückgeblieben. Allerdings war unsere Erwartungshaltung, nach dem phänomenalen Erfolg von Wii, auch sehr hoch. Im Vergleich zu allen bisherigen Konsolen schneidet Wii U aber ganz gut ab. Zum Vergleich: Für gewöhnlich setzen neue Konsolen in ihrem ersten Jahr 200 000 bis 300 000 Exemplare ab. In ähnlicher Größenordnung bewegt sich Wii U, so dass wir faktisch von einem soliden Start sprechen können. Hinzu kommt, dass wir mit unserem Spieleangebot bisher eher Nintendo-Fans und damit eher die klassischen Spieler bedient haben. Zu Weihnachten wollen wir nun mit Titeln wie Wii Party U, Wii Sports Club, Wii Fit U und allen voran natürlich Super Mario 3D World die klassische Nintendo-Familie für die neue Konsole begeistern. Für nächstes Frühjahr sind außerdem mit Mario Kart8 und Super Smash Bros. zwei weitere große Lizenzspiele für unsere TV-Konsole angekündigt.

This year could end like this:

February: DKC Tropical Freeze

March/April: Mario Kart 8

April/May: Super Smash Bros U

August: Bayonetta 2

October: X

November: Zelda U

I still believe that it'll release on spring. What I'm a bit doubtful of is Mario Kart. We haven't seen anything since E3 and even at E3 we saw more of Smash.

It's the best move. They can generate even more hype and a bigger boost than this holiday. All those games in one year is the best move. For 2015 the can have Yarn Yoshi, SMTxFE, Animal Crossing, Metroid, Mario Party, another 2D or 3D Mario, more DLC, etc.

Mario Kart has been confirmed for Spring and even at the release schedule Nintendo has it as a Spring title. Also, it looked well polished at the demo at E3. I doubt it will be delayed.

Universe? 

I know this is a rumor but...really?

That would be like a dream come true.

If only...

We all know Zelda will be delayed as usual

I can only hope that doesn't happen :(

Didn't stop Wii Fit U to be delayed by almost a year. I'm not saying it won't release this spring, but I really wonder why they haven't showed anything.

We get new info of Smash every day and I can imagine that Smash would take less time to develop.

But it will, it always happen.

By the way, why do you make a thread about Smash Bros and then make a poll about Zelda?

I hope it's true. Zelda has been in development since 2010, and the Wii U needs it.
