Forums - Microsoft Discussion - When will Microsoft exclusives be reviewed?

Today I've heard more than just one person on these forums say that they're considering canceling their PS4 pre-order (which I'm guessing is mostly because of Killzone: Shadow Fall's 74 metascore). If Microsoft has so much confidence in its exclusives, they should allow critics to review them ASAP. That way, the Xbox One might gain slightly more fanfare over the next week.

And as a prospective buyer of Xbox One, I would like to know ASAP if Microsoft's new console is worth buying. Is Forza still a AAA franchise, despite the fact that its next installment will launch with significantly fewer cars and tracks? Is Ryse as monotonous and boring as I'm expecting? Can Crimson Dragon recapture the magic of Panzer Dragoon Orta? Can Killer Instinct recapture the magic of its Super Nintendo days?

Anyways, does anyone know when Microsoft's exclusives will be reviewed?

Probably 2-3 days before console release.....just like the PS4.

same time as the ps4 games had before the launch

I would love to see Ryse score higher than KZSF on meta just to see the meltdowns but i don't expect much from ryse though i think that game will have mixed reviews, IMO only KI and Forza will get high scores.

Last time I read something the embargo for some games was changed to 20th.

well it wouldn't change much at this point... anyone who wants to buy either console now without a pre order locked won't get one.... so lifting the embargo won't change that.... unless people hope to sell their current pre order at a premium to buy the other one at a premium.... pretty silly IMHO....

but that attitude is weird.... I couldn't care less about meta scores.... I'm not a fan of KZ but if I was like I am of halo I wouldn't even read reviews... I would just go and buy the game....

it's like ryse... I'm sure i'll like it... I like darksider 1 and 2, dante's inferno, and castlevania just as much than bayonetta and DMC actually more than boyonetta... not that the game is not great it's just way too complexe for the time I have to play.... so yeah ryse could score a low 70 or even around 65 and I would still get it... I know I will have a good time anyway....

the only thing that can dissuade me to get a game I perceive like something I will enjoy is if there are major technical issues rendering the game unplayable and certainly not a metascore....

(Re-enactment)

MS: Come back at the 20th!

As soon as they are all patched up.

It's a bit like a movie.  The reviews come out right before the launch.  They want people excieted and talking about it.

And that is why people go to game shows, play games, and write reviews and reports about what they saw.

Few examples:

We already knew that there were frame rate issues, particurally for one console, from E3.

Whe knew Dead Rising 3 got improved between E3 and TGS and GamesCon.

Motion triggers for Forza weren't on at Comic Con, but later were at GamesCon.

Fomr the TGS that Knack was having problems.

The list can go on, and on, but these early tries at a game are really imporant for people to get a heads up information.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!
