According to some recent twitter post, Sony has apparently partnered with "media group" to launch a campaign aimed at using retailers to misinform potential Wii-U buyers and convince them to instead purchase a PS4 + Vita. Apparently this contract will run through April 2015.

Personally, I think it's BS, but it wouldn't surprise me. It would be a smart move by Sony and, to be honest, PS4 + Vita is a very good combination and, if Sony could bundle and offer it at a decent price, it would be a good alternative to the Wii-U. What do you guys think?

Personally, I call bs. Wii U doesn't even have that many buyers to take away from, it would be a terrible move by sony.

I agree that Nintendo itself made the Wii U name pretty... idiotic. But even as Sony do intend to hurt the Wii U, Nintendo 3DS sales are still sky rocketing. Sony may try to hinder the Wii U by self-promoting it's own handheld (which I do not intend to name), it still won't reach where the 3DS is now. Even having better "specs" and "graphics" it somewhat lack the appeal that will bring gamers, casual and hardcore (maybe some) alike, to actually get the Vita unless you're a hardcore Sony fanboy and thinks that everything Sony does is perfect and successful (like how they copied Nintendo's Motion Control Controller, respectively the WiiMote ;) )

Really?? Why would The handful of people that were buying the wii u worry sony.. Or anyone - apart from Nintendo - to do this?

I have read some silly stuff wrapped up as "rumour" but this takes the biscuit.
