I think it is time. Two  GTA games in one gen scoring a 98 is not okay. I didn't play GTA 5 but I played GTA Vice City, San Andreas and a little of GTA4, and by no means is the series worthy of such praise. If you see on metacritic most GTA games almost always score higher. There is no downs with the series, even though they have been selling us the same formula.

And then we hear people complaining about Zelda and the lack of innovation. Why is it that Zelda is now scoring lower with each new installments? I don't get it...

This is not a metacritic problem. This is a video game critic problem. I can't speak for GTA as I've only played one of the games, but there does seem to be a lot of hypocrisy in the industry. One series will get shoved panned for not innovating, while others stay the same for 2, 3, 4 games, and each time they get brilliant reviews.

I was walking down along the street and I heard this voice saying, "Good evening, Mr. Dowd." Well, I turned around and here was this big six-foot rabbit leaning up against a lamp-post. Well, I thought nothing of that because when you've lived in a town as long as I've lived in this one, you get used to the fact that everybody knows your name.

and what has metacritic to do with it? you should aks the reviewers to change if you are not ok with the scores.

I think they accept too much scores from a lot of magazines. They should limit it someway, make a more restrictive list of critics allowed.

That would still greatly bias the outcome. Maybe GTA might even get a higher score if that ends up happening and Zelda a lower.

Yeah it would but then again it depends of the restrictions! If you put only critics with certain "rules" they have to follow, Metacritic could eventually change the way critics handle their score in my opinion.

Metacritic is ok for me. GTA IV is almost a perfect game, GTA V should be the same (I don't play yet)

GTA is worth a perfect score just for the perfection in level design and physics. Plus the humor, intelligence, and explosions. It's a thrill ride for the primitive and non-primitive brain.

Zelda has made great strides in innovation but failed to pursue the best coarse. Ocarina was perfect, Waker was too imo. Twilight messed up many things especially linearity, same with skyward. Openness should be Zelda's motto. Besides, skipping pages of text when you pick up an item is unnacceptabe.

At any rate, Scores should be ignored! Down with metacritic. whether a game gets a 7-9 is arbitrary.
