Every time I read something about this game it makes me confused

I'll probably buy it, but you have to wander what Square Enix are really doing, why don't they make it next-gen.... Why are they abandoning parties... Why do they think people care about Lightning... Why does the story make no sense

I care(d) about Lightning.

Also, this is different than just pausing the game, right? Just to clarify.

I'll get it too, more than likely it'll be $20 less than 6 months after release like for XIII-2.

Anyways, good thing they didnt make this for next gen. They just recycled the same data/coding probably from XIII-2 and made this. A sign of laziness more than anything and a easy cash grab for future projects like KH3 and FFXV.

Doesn't the engine work on PC? But I don't want to be going back to my PS3 in 6 months time, I am moving it out my main TV room to replace it with my PS4. I don't want to have to back to it

If they even bother releasing it on PC then yes that would be awesome!

But as of this point no news regarding a PC version - just the PS3/Xbox360 versions.

They haven't released any recent games for PC have they? I was just talking about things from a technical perspective, the engine (they Crystal engine right?) was designed to work across all platforms if I remember correctly, so porting shouldn't be too hard... But this is all just speculation and hope. Sony is releasing its biggest selling franchise on the PS3 AFTER the PS4 comes out, so I guess they won't be the only one

That's not new, is it ?

They already brought the subject in july.

Final Fantasy VII (Steam release) as far as the Square portion and Dragon Quest X (Japan Only) of the Enix side.

Then the usual Eidos games.

I think it is possible to port but their track record isnt really dependable. The next expected title release from them is suppose to be Final Fantasy VIII for Steam but that is a rumor right now.

More than likely its probably a good thing that they are releasing it on current gen systems and not on the next gen systems because I doubt they think its worth it to release the "Final" game of a trilogy that isnt quite popular to begin with on two systems that will have a small userbase. Its far more worth releasing it on the PS3/Xbox360 since most of the userbase who would get this game has those two systems.

I was talking about their new Final Fantasy games. Their Eidos PC releaseshave actually been very good.

The only other FF games are FFXI and FFXIV. There was a rumor and a picture of a E3 board that showed LR FFXIII with PS3/Xbox360/PC but I heard it was photoshopped.

Other than that no sign of any FF game for PC n_n

Yeah. They did release the Last Remnant on Steam, but other than that, I can't think of much. I would imagine with next-gen games being basically PCs, they would make more PC ports since they basically make them anyway in the development  of the game

All I can say is good luck... There is no logical reason for them not to other than piracy, but they put all their Western games on Steam
