so question more about the apps people always complain that ms doesn't care about anything other then the US since a lot of apps are only for the US so my question is who decides where the app can be used is it the app creator or MS

Around the Network

it's the app creator... and even then it's not even up to them for the most part... for media content like TV shows it's more a licensing issue.... they don't have distribution rights for every countries... like hulu Netflix don't have rights do distribute in Europe or at least most of it as far as I know....

the question I have is would that app work outside of the house the subscription is attached or is linked to the cable box you have locally????? like for the ESPN app it doesn't work if your ISP doesn't offer ESPN so no way to make it work behind a VPN abroad not like hulu or Netflix that is just related to country IP

Wish they would add Charter Cable or Direct TV.

Ahh so its just fanboysim when people blame ms when its not a ms app ok

and i dont understand you question lol sry

well apps are like games... if MS is not the dev or the publisher they have very little power beside saying yes or no.... and for the content it's the freking copyright and distribution regulation of every country.... ie Fox sells distribution rights to Netflix only for the US then they sell rights to another company for the French market etc etc..... I can't wait for true globalization in the media market.... I don't care if it becomes a freaking oligopoly I want access to everything everywhere at any time as soon as it releases.....

well my question was if that app travels or is tied to your ISP subscription... do you log in the app on the 360 and it works no matter where I am as long as it is in USA or I can only use it at home... let say I'm in vacation in California and I live in new York can I log in the app and check out TV with a tethered wifi or something!!!

Yes, usually.

Like, If I have HBO Go and go to my friends who does not, but bring my Xbox. I can get HBO over there, cause the service travels with me.

The exception to this could possibly be ESPN which does all sorts of crazy blackout stuff.  But I don't play for ESPN I just remember how hard it was to get certain games on it for my folks when I was out there.  That could be unique to my situation.

But if you went overseas, you might have to do some funky stuff to get it work.  Legally it's not supposed to with the license - and that is the entertainment companies not Microsoft.  But sometimes things like that work.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!
