No, seriously. I can see that next-gen machines will bring gorgeous 1080p, 60fps HD graphics and all that. And I do like that, to some extent. But I am seriously the only one who enjoys a game with crappy textures from time to time?

For example, for me, the Battlefield 3 campaing was much better without the HD install on the 360 version.

Not only that, but where are those crappy-looking games? Are they long gone? Too much investment in graphic quality?

Am I the only one who thinks this way?

Of course, crappy graphics =/= bad game!

Have you ever played Black Ops 2 on PC on the lowest settings? It honestly looks (some visual effects aside) worse than Call of Duty 2 on high details...

Never, (stopped playing Call of duty after MW2), but you're picked my interest now :D I'll check it out when I have time.

Texture work has never stopped me enjoying a game.

Hell, this is one of the 7th gen's best games in my book:

Dem textures.

Gameplay over graphics any day of the week.

This is kind of an interesting answer, but you didn't get the point. What I'm asking is that if you enjoy crappy-looking games, just for the fact that they're crappy (Having a solid gameplay helps, of course. No one want to play a movie with crappy graphics).

Let's ask the question from a different angle: would you prefer the game you've just listed with 1080p graphics? Or you would leave it as it is now?

If a game is good, then why should graphics stop me? Super Mario 64 looks awful now but is still as fun as it ever was

Xbox Series, PS5 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030

SWTKOR looks like a ps2 game on very low setting.

Bet with gooch_destroyer, he wins if FFX and FFX-2 will be at $40 each for the vita. I win if it dont

Depends. I kinda like seeing games how their devs intended, feels more authentic.

I can't say I've ever enjoyed a game because of bad graphics.

Heh, I think I'll boot some games up and make some screenshots now. Goddammit Wright, things like these are the reason I can't finish Paper Mario >:{

I often find games with simpler graphics like Dead Rising, Deadly Premonition, and Earth Defense Force, to look more appealing than games which aim for photorealism (and miss it, anyway). So I think I know what you mean.
