But it is a demanding game for your PC.

Guildwars 2 is only demanding on the CPU

Well, it's not only Guild Wars. I still can play like 90% of all games with high settings (thank you console ports^^), the literally only exceptions are (or should be as I haven't installed both of them) Battlefield 3 and the Witcher 2. With mid-range components from 2008-2009(!)

What about Crysis? ;o

Crysis 1 - High, I think. Haven't tested Ultra yet :P

Crysis 2 - Need to test, but a friend of mine with a worse PC had it on mid (or what is supposed to be mid, I haven't seen the menu of the game since at least a year), so I'm pretty sure I should manage high settings.

I should mention I still play at an resolution of 1280*1024 though. My 19" LCD screen just won't give up and my 25" TV will be replaced at christmas, before that I will stay with the old guy^^

haha, that resolution makes games run twice as fast in some cases.

I guess that's why I'm still able to play all these games with high settings. But if I connect my PC to my FullHD television most of thes games manage high settings with ~40fps, so that's fine.

I'll upgrade next year regardless. I need a Core i5-3570k to be able to emulate my Wii collection in FullHD^^

Gothic II, Arx Fatalis (both of these games are pretty old though)

Thanks, just looked at some gameplay video of Gothic 3 (Is Gothic 2 better?) and Arx Fatalis. Arx Fatalis looks like some bullshit, but Gothic 3 looks pretty cool, if a little bit slow paced for my liking. I'll check it out though.

I am the Playstation Avenger.

Gothic III was an absolute bugmess when it released, fortunately the community patches ironed out all of them (absolutely required to install if you want to enjoy the game). The game world is still far too big for the content it has since it was a rushed job due to the publisher. Most people preferred the 2nd entry over the third one. In fact, part 2 is regarded as (one of) the best german RPG of all times :D
