Not a Pc gamer but it sure does look good. What's the basic premise behind the Arma games? Realistic modern military shooter or something?

Yup that DayZ mod sure did help the developers out. Sales increased by something like 300%. Helped them with the financials. Mods are something I wish consoles could have but I understand that it's nearly impossible to create.

It isn't. Dayz is being made on a variant of the Arma 2 engine. Would be awesome if it was made on this though.

It isn't. Dayz is being made on a variant of the Arma 2 engine. Would be awesome if it was made on this though.

I've been following its development since it came out and I've never heard that. Probably just internet conjecture. And they wouldn't need to wait for Arma 3 to come out, Dayz is being made by employees of the same studio as Arma.
