All they need to do is not to have a financial crisis. That's about it. You don't need human rights and such nonsense to be a super power.

They will overshadow the U.S very soon. I just hope that they start to improve their human rights and start to become a democracy.
Spurge: power isn't about being nice. It's about doing what you want to. Hopefully you wanna help kids and poorer folks, but that's not how Rome rose to become the nr 1 power in Europe for about 1000 years. The question is if they'll be the sole super power or if others will rise as well and if USA will manage to hold to what they got.

The way western economies are going, just endure.
They are probably going to move from a manufacturing ground to the homeland of massive electronic/car industry enterprises, just like Korea and Taiwan to some extent did before. No issues if companies are moving towards cheaper countries. In one or two decades we'll be talking about chinese companies like we do about Samsung or Hyundai. They'll rule the market with their innovative designs and quality.
They need to invade a country or start doing something with their large military.
Just keep doing what they're doing - military stuff isn't needed to become a superpower in the modern world - it's all about economics

Very true. Look at how strong South Korea is becoming just because of their burst of popularity around the world.
They have Media being sold all over, Car lines that are majorly popular, and a large tourist draw.
What China needs to do is to not be so closed in. They've worked really hard at opening things up but it's still not enough.
Since the crisis the US isn't a superpower anymore... They are on a rapid decline
Remember the 80s and Japan?
Also, China already is a super power. They are more powerful than most nations on the earth economically and militarily. Overrated but not to be messed with for sure. Talk about India or Brazil. They don't get enough credit.
