"We are very excited to be working with Turtle Beach to launch new gaming headsets for Wii U," said Steve Singer, Vice President of Licensing, Nintendo of America Inc.

"The Wii U launch will be one of the biggest new game console events of the year and we couldn't be more excited to support Wii U with a line of headsets," said Bob Picunko, Chief Marketing Officer of Turtle Beach.

"The advanced capabilities of the upcoming Wii U allow us to take full advantage of the technology we've developed and deliver gamers the kind of quality they fully expect from both Turtle Beach and Nintendo."

The tablet already has a built in microphone and speakers, so this is only necessary for gamers who have to hide their gaming activities from their families.

Yeah, probably 95% of gamers. Not a bad idea.

Well, as a late night gamer, this is very good news to me, now if only the microphone came with an special effect that makes my screams only heard in the game and not wake up my GF in my room.

No people Turtle Beach headsets aren't just for hiding noise from family. These are top of the line expensive headsets meant to be used by players who are looking for a competitive edge in gaming, like MLG pros and such. These headsets pick up even the minutest of sounds in game, such as footsteps of enemy and even the direction where they are coming from so you know enemy position in FPS games without even seeing them. If you are simply looking to keep the noise down for family members then you are looking at the wrong place.

The fact that Nintendo is teaming up with Turtle Beach and not some other random company is actually quite interesting because these items are very hardcore oriented.

This is very good they make excellent headsets.

Tablet also has an ear phone port, making this almost completely meaningless

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

found this other image... not sure if its representative or just a random stock image. It was in a similar article regarding the headsets.

Kinda cool tho. Far better for online multiplayer games I'd think.

This is definitely a move by Nintendo to get casual and Pro Gamers to consider
the Wii U a system to compete Online or in Tournaments....
Great team up and marketing move by Nintendo all around

Expect this to be part of a Wii U bundle for sure
