Wow ... are our memories so short that we have forgotten Sony's disk-read errors? Sony denied that for years ... and I know they did, because I had one repaired by them! My Xbox has crashed literally 2 to 3 times. Repairs cost, and MS would rather pay for the technology to slow that from happening than keep paying for repairs and losing tons of credibility. |
Poor PS3 Sales Means Smaller Losses
"Actually, because the number of units sold was not as high as we hoped, the loss was better than our original expectation," Quotes from Sony’s CFO Nobuyuki Oneda.

May I introduce: The winning quote.

There is no such thing as a console war. This is the first step to game design.
Wow guys, I hope all these trollish one-line responses is not a result of the vg$ system. Honestly, what is so wrong with stating that improving reliability is a top priority for the 360 business?
@kazadoom: He started his answer with "no" because the question ended with "a lot of people are questioning whether you should be [proud of Vista]." It makes sense conversationally, and it's a pretty strange thing to nitpick.

Few game disk read errors? The Sony PS2 had so many, I had to send it in - on my dime! When I got my RROD, it wasn't the hardware so much as my son running past some cables and yanking it. And MS shipped me a box to send it back in.
And based on your comments, do you have any hands-on time with a 360, or is all just something you read online? And truthfully, I admire the way you have gleaned one thought into 3 excuses for the 360 problems. Wow ... you should consider a career in Public Relations!
macross said: Well we certainly had to apologize to our uses about a number of box that had to be replaced. We did that for free for all of those people, we've gotten a lot of positive feedback about the way we handled it. We've got incredible reliability on the new work we've done. Our commitment is that it will be the most reliable video game box out there. |
No one can read anymore it seems.
Essentially he's saying "Our new stuff is much more reliable, and we're committed to making our products become the most reliable choices."
There are too many trolls in this thread just looking for an excuse to bash MS.

Exactly the problem -- their stuff doesn't appear any more reliable than it has been since launch. MS has said a lot of times before that they "fixed" the 360 reliability problem and yet it is clear that they haven't.
TheBigFatJ -
Microsoft HAS fixed their reliability problems. Ever read NeoGAF X360 death threads? I have yet to read "my Falcon X360 RRODed on me".
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Agreed. I think the 360 is the least reliable mainstream piece of electronics ever created, but he is not saying it isn't, nor that it won't be in the future. He is just saying they’re dedicated to do whatever they can to try and fix the problem. And while they may not be successful at it, at least they are trying.
Do they not teach comprehension in school anymore?
Now... the Vista thing however is a damn lie, as this video proves :)
