Yodobashi Akiba Sells Out of Monster Hunter 3G

... and other bits from the MH3G launch.

7hr 15m ago / Anoop Gantayat / 2 Comments

It's just one shop, but it's one of the biggest! The mega Yodobashi Camera in Akihabara has posted sellout signs for Monster Hunter 3G. The shop says it will get its next shipment on the 15th.

Inside Games snapped this and other pics from the MH3G launch today for its Twitter account.

The site also reports that the Akiba Yodobashi sold out of the solo Circle Pad expansion.

While we're going to have to wait until next week for sales figures, it looks like MH3G brought out the 3DS owners and they brought their system with them! Midway through the day, Inside Games had managed to do Street Pass transfers with 100 3DS owners.

For more coverage of the 3G launch, see these stories:

Series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto appeared at the Shinjuku event alongside the game's commercial spokespersons: three NMB48 members and Slim Club's Ken Maeda and Masanari Uchima.

a Monster Hunter game popular in japan? What a crazy world we live in!

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

- George Orwell, ‘1984’

You ship 420k copies of new monster hunter game and surprisingly it leads to huge shortages. Seriously Capcom. WTF?

If they really shipped only 420k copies that is absurd. Are they afraid it wont do well on the 3ds?

Not a bad start, not bad at all. Both Nintendo and Capcom must be happy.

About shortages... well, as they did with RE4, this is basically the fourth time the game is released (after Wii, PSP and even a PS3 version), so it's understandable that they though it wouldn't be that big.

Please excuse my bad English.

Great timing to have that game come out a week or so before the vita! I am sure the vita wwill do well

I am not so sure about Vita. It seems the vita game preorders are relatively low. The PSP had been nothing without the Monster Hunter Games, The launch sales of Vita will be interesting.

great news, hopefully Capcom will keep supporting 3DS

don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^

The psp is a great handheld even without monster hunter.  Imo when capcom releases a vita monster hunter it will do better than a 3ds version.  Vita will do fine 1 game wont decide the fate of the system.

Sony is Dom3ds!!!

well this is no surprise but anywho, YAY!!

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

I think it's just that they didn't want to make the same mistake they made with MHTri.
