Forums - Sales Discussion - Will the Assassins Creed franchise sell 10M WW (all systems combined) LTD?

Everyone probably already know that the original version of Assassins Creed was only released for PS3/360. As very many other video games have ports, this game will also have. Ubisoft will port the original "core version" to the PC 1 year later than the PS3/360 release, probably somewhen in 2008 then. There will also be a new "causal version" of the game exclusively for the DS, also availible in 2008, and will be called "Assassins Creed DS". Totaly AC will be published on 4 different platforms. Will AC sell 10M worldwide on all systems (combined) life to death?

Probably yes. PS3 and 360 together, AC sold almost 4M, and that's only on 2 platforms (of 4). AND the PS3 version hasn't been published in Japan yet, so there's much more sales to expect. As usually, the 360 version will sell most in America and the PS3 version in Europe. The PC and DS versions will be mostly equal. The Japanese sales for AC will probably be very small on the PS3, 360 and PC, but the DS version will probably get the biggest effect there.

My guess of the LTD sales is:

         4M (best selling in America)

         3M (best selling in Europe)

         2M (best selling in Japan)

         1M (best selling in Germany*)

 TOTAL :   10M

So, what's your prediction???

*Hasn't the PC 85% market share in Germany? It's falling heavily each month, but it will still be high enough to keep the dominance in 2008, and even 2009... but maybe not for 2010! When that will happen (when the video games, and not the PC games, get over 50% of the market share in Germany), the Europe software sales will rise hugely! Not because I'm interested in German sales, but it's still Europe's biggest country (if you don't count Russia), so they have a big proportion in Europe's sales, and therefor it's important for us other Europeans...

Call this prediction crazy, but remember that AC still has over 5 years to reach it!!! It has all the time in the world that it needs!

By the way, doesn't this look like a John Lucas prediction, but on other consoles than Wii?!?!?!

That's very nice console icons, isn't it?

No, PC software vs consoles (all including portable) where 50-50 this year. And Consoles are catching up.

Software sales update (the European numbers came just a short moment ago):

It's getting closer!

1,029,698* (+57,732*)

975,349* (+46,579*)

*Europe only!

i can`t see it happening

N64 is the ONLY console of the fifth generation!

bet with *no one yet* that the combined first week of Monster Hunter 3 in america and europe will be 600k or more! winner changes looser sig and avatar for two months!

AC doesn't deserve so high sales.

Sorry, I had in mind that it was 85%. Maybe it was old statistics...

I think it will settle in around 6m. PC won't sell that great and I doubt the DS version will do well at all.

If it hits Platinum release rather quickly, it could do a little more than that but both hardware and software sales should settle in and slow down for the next few months.

It does. It deserved good enough sales to warrant a sequel.
