So according to the Americas Preview article Gears 3 will open up to roughly 2.3 million for Americas and around 3 million WW.

So I guess the Americas pre-orders were definitely overtracked for Gears 3 (which is unfortunate)

Also it appears the Xbox 360 will get a 50-60k boost due to the Gears 3 special edition console.

not really some games are just very front loaded compared to there PO especially for big name titles like this

for first week i would of guessed 3.5M and above, we'll see what the final numbers bring though this is just a preview

Pre orders were pretty spot on, Gears is much more of a core game than Halo, which in turn is more core than Call of Duty.

Besides full data isn't in yet, has a chance to top 2.5 mill in Americas.

Yeah but if these numbers are legit than Gears 3 only had 350k sales in it's FW that weren't pre-orders in Americas.

sales are spot on with what i always thought. i never bought into the pre-order hype. Also didnt gears 2 do 2 million fw, these sales are great.

POs could be over tracked either way will see this occur again next with BF3 and the complete opposite with MW3 and UC3 i see those two having way more sales to PO ratio
