Forums - Nintendo - Star Fox 64 3D medals are less difficult to get?

Tagged games:

I bought Star Fox 64 3D this friday and I've been playing it pretty much non-stop. Have managed to get almost all medals in N64 mode quite easily (just missing Aqua and MacBeth) and it's striking me as odd, since I had such a hard time getting them on the N64.

Take in case Venom 2 medal. You not only had to get 200 hits, you also had to avoid the destruction of any of your teammate's ships, against the 4 Wolfken II ships from the Star Wolf team. I pretty much got it on the first try and I distinctively remember spending days trying to get it, since your teammates would go down faster than you could say "For fuck sake Slippy, move out of the way".

So, have any of you felt like it's easier to get medals on this game or that the difficulty has been reduced from the N64 version? I believe that hit count at least is similar.

Well, considering the original came out 14 years ago, you're probably just much better at video games now.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

I think it's also probably due to that this version is easier to control (at least for me) than the original. I had a bit of trouble with the N64 controller and the 3DS analog nub makes the flying much easier I guess.

But yeah, 14 years more account for extra experience just like Spurgeonryan said... I dunno, just was hoping for a bigger challenge (from what I remembered back then) than it is.
