Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Rumour: Nintendo Selects goes third-party

With all the news we've had recently of other games going budget, some Ubisoft games have appeared online on Fnac.

The Ubisoft games getting price-cut and recognition are:

  • Rayman Raving Rabbids
  • Rayman Raving Rabbids 2
  • Rayman TV Party
  • Rabbids: Mi Caaaasa!
  • Red Steel
  • Shaun White Snowboarding
  • Mi Fitness Coach
  • Avatar

How many more are going cheap? Who picks these games? Is there a sales minimum each should reach?

I dunno about the rest of you, but I've been able to find better deals than these Selects on some titles before. If you are thinking on buying the Rabbids', there was a cheap party pack that offers a much better deal.

at most two of them deserve it...

Until you've played it, every game is a system seller!

mini-games on consoles, cinematic games on handhelds, what's next? GameBoy IMAX?

It makes sense since most of those UbiSoft titles sold decently and are decent products. Though I can't see why Avatar is listed actually it shipped half a million copies I guess that is pretty good. I hope many titles make this cut. Nintendo Selects needs to catch up with Players Choice on GCN. Heck Nintendo should have made selects already a few years ago, it would have boosted software sales and could have also improved hardware sales. But I guess introducing a shit load of Selects and a new model of the Wii is a good idea since WiiU launches next year and could cannabolize Wii's market share!

may i ask what is this Nintendo selects about? is it like Sony's platinum system where the only best selling games get to turn into Nintendo Selects?
