Forums - Sony - Attention PS3 Owners: Go Buy More Games!

Are you sick of going to gamrReview and seeing numbers like these:

Bioshock (360)* - 2.58 mil

Bioshock (PS3)* - .63 mil

*bad comparison*

Or these?

Dragon Age (360) - 1.68 mil

Dragon Age (PS3) - .92 mil

Just a little confused as to why the sales of most multi-platform games on the PS3 are less than their 360 counterparts. Shouldn't the sales be more identical? Or is it that PS3-owners comprise of a more diverse audience with a different gaming palette? (did I use the word palette correctly in that sentence? lol)

Thoughts/Opinions?

*sigh* I really should've thought about this more before I posted a thread at 4:00 in the morning....

You cite two games that are very popular in the American Market where the 360 has almost double the user base of the ps3, plus bioshock is a late port.   I think the ps3 does very well in selling games, why don't you look at multi plat games like final fantasy XIII or devil may cry?

*Al Bundy's My Hero*

I see your point, but by the time Bioshock came out I already had a 360 and played it on that platform. I'm sure this was the case for many people who own both platforms. This basically just shows that microsofts actions of paying for exclusivity for a game for a year pays off for them. Even though it does crap for the consumer and actually is like cock blocking PS3 gamers out of games for an extra year.

Also tried Dragon Age that my step bro bought and it was horrible. Blame the fact that bioware has tradionally made more games for microsofts platforms then Sonys.

I would love to buy games , if my parents would buy me a ps3

Don 't know your age, but a job will get you the mulah to buy this sweet beast.

Yeah, Bioshock is not a good example as it came out so much later and I wouldn't be surprised if a similar story is true for Dragon Age. If my memory serves me right then it was supposed to come out later, but suddenly god bumped up to come out at the same time, which means a lot of pre-ordering people had probably already got pre-ordered already for their PC or Xbox360.

Will be interesting to see if Move will change the landscape in terms of traditional multiplatform games as it will be an extra feature the PS3 version will have for many hardcore games, which the Xbox doesn't. R.U.S.E. being one example, but I am sure 3rd party shooters will follow Sony's lead too. (And before someone mentionns Kinect, while its nice for excercise games, lets all agree you will never run around in COD for example shooting by waving your arms)

FAIL THREAD

Have a look at Batman or Super Street Fighter IV or FIFA10 or FIFA WC or whatever.

Because they are Playstation legacy games and are also an unfair comparison.
