Sometime in late July I got bored and went through the Wii message board adding up the time I had spent on each game and channel and putting it into a spreadsheet. In the last few days I have done the same for July to the end of November, for a total of 10 months owning the Wii (bought February 6th 2007)

It has now in fact passed 1000 hours.
I have tabled it up for those of you who are incredibly bored to look at (those of you who are not bored could just comment how sad i am to have spent time doing this, or take a guess at whether you have played more/less than me)
For games i had not purchased yet I put a "-" for that month, and no time spent on it is obviously a "0" (Wii play I didn't buy until June, but my flatmate brought her brothers copy around for Feb/March)

I am intrigued to know what exactly the Wii is tracking when it states "other" on the "todays achievements" message, because it seems to be related to updating the Wii, except that i definately did not have 21 hours + spent updating, unless it was doing it in the background while gaming?
If you take out the "other" time then it doesn't quite add up to 1000 hours, but the Wii doesn't track any Gamecube games and i guess i spent at least 40 hours those.

I was suprised when i saw how long I had been on the internet over the summer for.... ok so i didn't spend much time over those 2 months on my laptop internet (maybe 20hours) but it is still a lot.

actually... 31X24 = 744.... so i spent about 1/7th of my summer time on the internet, and probably more than 1/5th of my time awake (roughly 7 hours sleep each night)

does anyone have any idea what the Wii means by "other"?...because like i said, it only seems to happen when i update (except the last update) but i doubt all the updates added together even make 30 minutes, yet I have 21 hours of "other"
