for the casual's that bought a Wii alreaady it's going to be a tough sell, but for those potential  Wii owners there going to haft to explain the price.

i just don't see $399.99 as a casual gamers price.

I am curious, based on reading this here, on VGChartz.  Do people really only get excited about something if they see it making a difference in the sales of consoles, and people here don't think that Move will make headway into the casual gamer market?

i think it will have some impact, but it depends on the target audience adopting it. Sonys targeting the hardcore and the casual, but like i said before $399.99 is not a casual price.

they may have some luck with the casual, but the hardcore will take some convencing! star wars game on move. that would be a good start!

I think I might get it when a game I'm really interested comes out that uses it.

I.E. I might get it for Dead Space 2 to play Extraction even though I have it on the Wii.

I really hope they have a Move version for Dead Space 2.

Otherwise might wait until Killzone 3 or if some crazy RPG comes out that uses it.

Not really :). Though that sorcery game looked ok, I must admit.

I've noticed the same, Richard. The overall vibe for move is almost one of indifference. Even after the E3 showing, there seems to be no real excitement there. Only ones really interested looks like the Sony loyals, as the games shown to support it don't really appeal beyond its current fanbase.

I've noticed this as well.

...Do you guys feel that the PS Move was made more to keep the current fan base then to expand it?

The Interweb is about overreaction, this is what makes it great!

...Imagine how boring the interweb would be if everyone thought logically?

Up until E3 I would have said never.

After seeing Sorcery, Ill have to say maybe.  Adding Motion controls to games that can be played with a DS3 just does not interest me in the slightest.  I love the PS3 controller and see NO REASON whatsoever to play with anything else (if I have the option).

This is why I really enjoyed watching Sorcery.  It did not (as far as I know) support the DS3 and it just looked promising.  Either way, I will not be purchasing Move unless it gets much more "exclusive motion control" support and I am not just talking sports/minigames/party games.

Games are all that count, so if I am "forced" to buy a system or a new control scheme because the games I want are only playable with it, I'll buy it.

As I already have a Wii, there's only few Move supported games that interest me at the moment:

- Heavy Rain => I already have the game; a Move patch is coming, which is interesting, but this alone won't make me buy a Move control bundle
- Sorcery => looks nice, but not special atm (still early in development it seems) and Wii gets Epic Mickey already this holiday (earlier than I thought, plus EM is being designed by a man who never disappoints and meanwhile the game looks extremely interesting)
- Child of Eden => for me this was by far the most interesting of the announced Move/Kinect games (if you don't know what CoE is, click the left pic in my sig to see the trailer), but...

...when Child of Eden was presented at E3 by its designer I thougt damn this is a MS exclusive and will only work with Kinect, should I buy a 360 just for this game? Soon I realized it will also be released on PS3 and I immediately decided to buy Move/EyeToy along with CoE (which will be released in Q1/11 afaik). Then I was surprised to find out that CoE will work with standard controllers on both systems - even on 360, which surprised me even more - which is great for me and other people who are interested, but a missed opportunity for both, MS and Sony. CoE would have been a fantastic exclusive motion controlled (niche) game which has no real equivalent on Wii.

In other words: Child of Eden would have been the one game which would have easily sold a Move bundle to me, quasi my personal Move killer app, but as things are now I won't have to buy the additional control scheme to play the game.

Personally, I don't know for sure if I'm buying ANY motion controller any time in the near future.  I already have a Wii and, despite it not being very precise, I feel like I've already been there and done that.

With that said, I have absolutely no interest at all in getting the Playstation Move.  I just don't find it appealing at all.  Nothing about the Move or it's games make me feel like I'll have fun with it.  Again, if I didn't already have a Wii (and I wasn't already tired of motion control), I guess I'd be more excited.

As for Kinect (and I know this isn't a Kinect thread), I do have somewhat of a passing interest in that technology.  The voice controls and the controller free tech have me curious.  I have to see some compelling software for it, though.  If anything, I'd get "Kinectimals" for my little girl and it seems a lot less intimidating to buy the one Kinect device when compared to all of the gadgets that I'd need to get the most out of Move.

For now, I'll use a Wii for my motion control needs and I'll fire up my PS3/360 for my awesome graphics needs.  Right now, I don't feel the need for the two to cross.

Wii- Definitely (with Wii Motion Plus, a possibility in the future--but not likely)

Kinect- Slightly possible.

Move- No interest whatsoever.

lol does not socom4, re5 or time crisis at least make your mouth water, the move is like having a 3d mouse;);)

Yeah but so is the Wiimote, and that's been out for 4 years.

Move looks ok, but it's been done already. And there are really no games, besides maybe Sorcery, that would give me reason enough to spend $100 on yet another motion controller when I already own a Wii.

I have a feeling Sony is trying to target Wii owners who may want to upgrade, but still have controls that are similar (Wii HD as someone said, who is only 25% right some of the time... see below).  I feel like Kinect is going for people even too casual to get into Wii.  I also feel the divide between Kinect audience and the core audience on the 360 is larger than with Move.

there already is an official thread for it, does kinect have one just wondering and yes i'm getting the move as it supports hardcore and casual gaming.

This thread?

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=104053&page=1

It only looks like there is 2-3 pages tops on posts after E3.  Most of them were before, and I don't see a lot of people pumped about Move.

lol it's gone past that mark and at least it has one, not to mention people keep on making their own mini thread's, i have not seen much about kinect at all really, not as much as i have seen move articles being posted

I am not being a fanboy but most people who love hardcore games do not want to play on the wii, we like our graphics in HD thanks, so yeah maybe wiimote has been around for longer, that does not change the fact that ps move is more precise, has augmented reality and all games have the option of being in HD, this is what made the difference to me after wiimote let me down 4 years ago

Also I think people are fed up of ps mve thread's getting invaded by fanboys....
