The fighting ends here, there is no need for it, we all love to discuss our favorite games and consoles but there has never been or ever will be a need to assign yourself to one console and then talk smack about the others.
It seems to me that the only reason people do this is immaturity, there is no need to bring up how much better _____ game is better when you're not fooling anyone, you're simply saying it because it's on your favorite console... stop it! It also seems to me like most of the people that talk shit end up being people that made one purchase and must defend to the death that purchase, let me give some insight, no one cares! This seems especially true of the kids that begged their parents for one of the three consoles and now because they can't simply go out and buy another console they have to defend the choice they made, it's really dumb.
But it's apart of the human condition I guess, I started this analogy in a different thread but here it goes. You've got your stereotypical douche that buys expensive stuff and talks about skiing in the alps and how awesome his life is cause other people are experts and they KNOW how to live an awesome fulfilling life, the reason people act like this is to feed their own egos, make sure they are socially accepted, and they take pride in the meaningless things in life.
"Yeah this Ralph Lauren (Sony/Nintendo/MS) shirt (game), is so amazing because all the people (like minded retards caught up in their own egos) agree and so do fashion critics (snobby game reviewer)" I use this as a point since it seems to be common ground for all thee sides to hate douches like that, but lets face it many people are doing the same thing with games and it's simply mind numbing when you see the arugments that start because of it, I know a lot of people are tired of it.
In the end, we're all gamers, we love our games, we can be more mature than that, I know a lot of the reason for the hooplah is the same reason PC gamers got mad that consoles were becoming popular, and then the SNES fans when PS1 became popular over N64, but you know what it happens, you fight, it doesn't change that games are evolving, and you start to realize that you can still love games as they change.
So here's the deal, if you're tired of the people opposing each other for the sake of their own E-peen's sign here, support gaming discussion, support your favorite games in a civilized manner, show that you can accept everyone and their various tastes, because no one is wrong when it comes to their enjoyment. And if you see someone running around trying to show how their E-peen is bette than yours, then pants them, in a group, nothing hurts the ego and stops them from acting that way if they know the majority isn't on their side.
