So after God of War 3, how much do you think Gran Turismo 5 will do?

1 - 2 M 15 6.98%

2 - 3 M 37 17.21%

3 - 4 M 35 16.28%

4- 5 M 30 13.95%

5 -6 M (Almost Unrealistic) 98 45.58%

Total:215

OVER 9000!

Wait, what are we asking here? Is this lifetime, or 24 hours, first week, first month? 5-6 lifetime is NOT unrealistic. It could get as high as 10 million. I believe saying it will go as high as 15 million, unless bundled heavily, would be pushing it. I say this because of the diversity of owners on the PS3. People who bought a PS3 as a Blu-Ray player are not guaranteed to want GT5.

2. The game will probably come out in the holiday season - the PS3 user base will be much bigger by then

Two words: March 2009.

Maybe it's the fact that Sony was once on top of the mountain in this industry, and the fall from grace has been swift and brutal. The worst thing about being on top is the fall to the bottom, and maybe the transition from PS2 dominance to PS3 heel-dragging has had a damaging effect on the fanboy psyche, leaving them vulnerable and insecure. Maybe fanboys are suffering from a severe case of paranoid delusion, brought about by denial that the PS3 is in third place when once Sony was leading the charge.

Hmm, 4-5m first month, as I said, lol.

I mean, it's perfectly possible, and the legs will take it to, let's say.. 7-8m by the end of the year? Does anyone think that's possible? That'd be an extra 3-4m over the Christmas period, provided it's released in October/November, I can see this game being one of the years "hottest Christmas presents" for console owners. I'm also expecting to see an extra 500k-1m PS3's sold due to the game over the course of the holidays, anyone fancy quoting me? :D

No idea... As we don't know what Month, or where abouts IN that Month it will launch.

It could launch 1st week of December.

It could launch last week of November.

Big differences.

Guys, I'm talking about FIRST MONTH SALES

You really should have specified in the Poll title.  Less confusing that way.

So you must mean first week/month with those options.

If you meant Lifetime then this is the worst poll ever.

It'll do like 2 million first week, maybe 4 million first month, and quite possibly over 10 million lifetime because GT games have amazing legs and it'll probably be bundled at some point.

Well, I do not think that we are able to put a number to the sales just yet...too many factors to consider at this point. But we can all agree on the fact that it will be nothing short of evissam :) we should just wait and see...and watch in awe when the numbers come in.

Ok, first, I will reply 3-4 million granted it is released near Black Friday worldwide and counts sales through Christmas. But this includes the fact I am expecting a great advertising campaign along with a sweet bundle. There is one thing that might push it to 4-5 million. If Sony would combine a GT5 package with a price cut on the PS3 down to $250, then it will hit 4-5 million with no worries. Not only this, but I have the slight inkling that given Sony is able to keep supplies up with this, that the PS3 would outsell the 360 by 50% if the 360 also cuts price and 100% if 360 stays same price through Christmas.

Money can't buy happiness. Just video games, which make me happy.

I can't see Sony cutting the price this year to be honest, I mean, they just did that mid-last year, and as far as we know, they're still making a loss, and I can't see them cutting the price by $50, unless they were making that much back from every PS3 sold, so they wouldn't be making anymore losses.

So until we get word that they're making profits from the PS3 up to the level that they're turning $50 profit for each one sold, I don't think they'd want to cut the price.

Although it'd be a huge suprise to me if they did cut the price regardless if they're making profit or not, I mean, they ARE competing with another company, so they'll do what they have to in order to win, right?
