Does Digital Restrictions Management foster piracy instead of discouraging it? I'm including "downloadable content" in this question, because it is after all DRM'd and you can't resell it or even back it up.

"Well certainly with the Xbox 360, we had some challenges at the launch. Once we identified that we took control of it. We wanted to do it right by our customers. Our customers are very important to us." -Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb (10/2013). Note: RRoD was fixed with the Jasper-revision 3 years after the launch of 360

"People don't pay attention to a lot of the details."-Yusuf Mehdi explaining why Xbone DRM scheme would succeed

"Fortunately we have a product for people who aren't able to get some form of connectivity; it's called Xbox 360,”-Don Mattrick

DRM hell yes, I can't even remember how many PC users I know get turned off by DRM.

As for DLC no idea, I think DLC is annoying for the most part.

DRM most definitely. In fact it only makes groups even more eager to crack games.

DLC I doubt it. Most people just hate the idea of DLC outright and that's about it.

DLC doesn't cause piracy, but it is pirated. I agree with DLC piracy because it's content that should be in the game.

Um, all DLC can be re-downloaded so you don't really have to back it up...

...Unless the download service shuts down in the future. Like that music distribution service of Microsoft last year.

Well, so far only 20% voted "no".

Securom basically broke a HDD so much that I needed to reformat. In part that was why I moved to console gaming.

If I ever moved back to PC gaming I would do anything to prevent Securom or any similar DRM getting on my system.

DRM, yes.

DLC, I don't think so.
