    Rhythm Heaven: It's good, but...

in Nintendo Discussion, last active on on 10 April 2009

...after playing a significant amount of the game, it has become clear that the GBA original is better.  I still highly recommend the game, but if you try it and love it, I even more highly recommend that you get ahold of the original game.  It will knock your proverbial socks off!...

Once again, my interest in a game has been totally killed by the demo...

in Gaming Discussion, last active on on 01 March 2009

The victim this time being Killzone 2.  Much like Uncharted, Ratchet & Clank Future, Burnout Paradise, Saint's Row and Tales of Vesperia before it, the demo completely removed any former purchasing intention that may have existed (excluding the possibility of a severely reduced price, which may or may not eventually sway the decision). I guess they work both ways though, as the Valkyria...

I buy too many games. Do you?

in Gaming Discussion, last active on on 28 January 2009

Post here if you, like me, buy way more games than would seem prudent or logical in any way.  Or if you just want to make fun of those of us who do.  We probably deserve it. Here is a list of the games I bought today.  Granted, not all of them are for me, and some will be used for trades, but still.  What the hell. Advance Wars: Days of Ruin Assassin's Creed Banjo-Kazooie:...

Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: I need answers!

in Gaming Discussion, last active on on 15 January 2009

I really enjoyed the first game and, noticing that supply has been dwindling in local game stores, picked up a copy of the sequel recently.  However, reviews and relevant commentary seem to indicate that the sequel varies significantly from the original.  How does it compare?  Is it worth keeping?  For those who only played the second, what did you think of it?...

    Resident Evil 5 Demo Impressions

in Gaming Discussion, last active on on 16 December 2008

Has anyone else played this?  I'm surprised by how underwhelming I found it to be.  Perhaps the lack of context makes it less compelling, but the gameplay direction shown in the demo doesn't impress me....

in Gaming Discussion, last active on on 23 October 2008

I was surprised to see the second game in this series have such a strong debut in the 10/19 Japan preview, especially considering it was a series of which I had never before heard.  I did a little digging and found a couple of screenshots, and was really intrigued by the game's style. Although some accounts differ, the premise of the game seems to be that the player has somehow come into...

    Cookies.

in General Discussion, last active on on 21 July 2008

Yes, cookies: fuel of heroes, scourge of cowardice, champions of tasty virtue.  Though they may seem a treat of the unassuming variety, cookies have long held sway in the hearts of mankind the world over.  From the reign of Emperor Jimmu to the days of the Balkan Wars and onward, their unmatched delicious grandeur has informed countless military campaigns and political upheavals...

Does anyone actually care about "The Bourne Conspiracy"?

in Gaming Discussion, last active on on 17 March 2010

DoReMi Fantasy: Why, Hudson Soft, why?

in Nintendo Discussion, last active on on 16 March 2008

First of all, I would like to stress that I am all for as many (good) import games as possible seeing release on the Virtual Console.  There has never been a better opportunity for companies to bring games to regions in which they had not previously been available. However, the latest batch of imports sets an unhealthy precedent, particularly with DoReMi Fantasy: Milon's DokiDoki...

Are you seeing first-party GC controllers in stores?

in Nintendo Discussion, last active on on 10 March 2008

Although I purchased Brawl from a different store, I was also in Wal-Mart today and they actually had some first-party Gamecube controllers on the shelf.  I haven't seen that for many months.  Did Nintendo ship some out to accompany the Brawl release, or was this just random chance (ie. old stock that was somehow dug up and put on the shelf)?...
