Edited the OP to hopefully make it clear on what this is about.
BTW, I think showing off Wii Sports wasn't about losing or keeping mystery, but to show further potential. I'm guessing that precision control is going to be in the upcoming Zelda game, but there is plenty of mystery about that.
And I don't think those people are lost customers if they don't like those games in the first place.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
