There's a lot of random threads and opinions are just so wild ight now. I wanted to bring things in a little closer and focus on the things that really matter in the end, the games. Nintendo announced four of them. Give me your thoughts on each one. You can use the Wii Motion Plus under Wii Sports Resort since it's the showpiece of the new accessory.
1. Wii Music-If I get what Miyamoto said, this is basically not really much of a game at all. You just get the gist of the actions of each instrument and button mash. The game does the rest. No skill required. How does everyone feel about this? Should there have been some sort of challenge to this game? I'm completely not interested in this anymore, because this is just reaching into the territory of autoplay. All the other Wii branded games require some skill and encourage you to get better at the game, especially the tracking systems of Wii Fit and Wii Sports. Wii Music would really only be relevant in a social setting and in my mind, for very short amounts of time. This seems as mindless and pointless as Microsoft's You're In the Movies, and it's not even funny in that campy B-movie way Microsoft's offering is.
2. Wii Sports Resort w/Wii Motion Plus-Sign me up day one for this, game and accessory both. Am I the only one that thought I saw a stillshot of volleyball in there? Awesome if true. Sword fighting is the new boxing, and this time it'll work properly. With this new accessory it would be great for Nintendo to go back into Wii Sports and change it for better accuracy. I would buy it this time if they went and did that. Wii Sports Plus!
3. Pokemon Ranger: Shadows of Almia-I couldn't believe this is the game Nintendo decided to showcase as their lone DS title. Did I miss something else in there or was this really it? Why not Kirby at least? Thank god third parties have taken the DS over. It's to the point actually that Nintendo could drop software support and I'd still be a happy camper all year long. Maybe Nintendo knows that too.
4. Animal Crossing: City Folks-Color me interested. I've been bitching about chat for a while, and I will not shit on them now because it isn't perfect. Kudos to you Nintendo for listening. The game itself looks very impressive but I'm not sure it's for me. I love the slightly tweaked look they've given it, which seems to blend in that Animal Crossing look with old school SNES sprite crispness, if that makes any sense. I may give this a shot just so I can chat with some of you fine folks at VGChartz while we plan a fishing trip or go to the city. That sounds pathetic, but I'm actually looking forward to it.
Now for the thoughts of you fine folks.
