it's just a problem of phrasing. When people say "X won E3" what they mean is "I thought that X's conference was very good and I utterly enjoyed it".
On the other hand when people respond with "fuck you dude I hope you die in a fiery pit of hell where satan rapes you daily" what they mean is "I can understand your point, but I respectfully disagree"
