I'm not surprised by Nintendo not doing much more for this show. When you are on top, you get complacent. Let second and third place bend over backwards trying to catch up! I expected to be dissapointed by them, but not THIS badly. The new controller add-on holds a lot of promise, though, so I give them an Incomplete. I'm looking forward to swinging some crazy lightsabers.

I think Sony had some effective damage control after losing exclusivity of one of their most anticipated titles. God of War 3, MAG, Resistance 2 and the rest of the games look quite nice. Kudos to them for showing the most games. The newly priced 80 GB SKU is cool, but no BC sucks big time. The problem I have with them is that most of their stuff is about the near-future (as in 2009 and beyond), while 360 I think is focused more on the PLAY GREAT GAMES RIGHT NOW mentality.

Microsoft had the biggest megaton announcement by stealing Sony's Thunder with the Final Fantasy announcement. They also showed the Avatar thing. Hmmm... So two of their big news is directly related to stealing games from or copying the competition. They definitely lose style points. Fable 2 and Gears 2 looked sweet, though. In the end, I think securing Final Fantasy for their console was all they had to do. It may not be very creative on their part, but at least I think it will have some kind of impact in market positioning.

One final note, however: ''winning'' the E3 does not guarantee anything.
I still think current sales trends will be in line with we have seen so far in 2008.
