3/10
They proved they are strong with the casual market, and the Wii motion plus is premtive to prevent Sony or Microsft from even possibly stealing any thunder.
I feel they truly are abandoning the hardcore though- I don't want to sell my Wii becuase I want Tales and Animal Crossing and want to keep playing smash, but if Wiis are going for $400-$600 used on ebay this winter I'll probably sell anyway. Nintendo says they are still with the hardcore- and prove it by showing ONE thrid party game for DS. DS has so much support it would be almost impossible not to find at least one good game coming this fall.
Reggie came off as arrogant with his 10 minute talk about how dominating Nintendo is, and that is never a good thing imo.
This year Nintendo needed to capture the hardcore, and they failed to do it. Now PS360 will get all the hardcore games, and I smell a HUGE divide in gaming where it is split 50/50 between Nintendo and the HD market. Wii is not a fad, but if casuals eventaully lose interest, Nintendo is in a terrible spot for next gen, and Microsft has a 40-65% chance of taking the first place crown imo.
(btw I give Microsft's show a 7/10, FF13 was +1)
