This is a bold statement but I do think it could happen.
I have neither the time nor inclination to probe Sony CE accounts or even the Sony Corp as a whole to try to ascertain their current cash reserves.
However in sheer cash reserve stakes Microsoft could have Sony for breakfast.
The one way Microsoft could win is adopt the time honoured strategy of opening the financial veins and bleed. This could be done via price drops or bundled content.
Irrespective of the method Sony would need to match the bleed to stay competitive and in a money bleed contest Sony would be curling its toes long before Microsoft felt any discomfort.
