Microsoft got a pretty weak conference until the end when FFXIII was announced to be multi-patform.

Now, how can Nintendo steal the talk from that announcement?

Wii Sports 2 with Motion Plus? Kingdom Hearts 3? New FFXIII title (a side game like Versus)? Something like Wii Fit?

I don't know, there were a few other notable things mentioned (not as big as FF XXIII), so if you consider MS's press conference to be weak, then how could Nintendo's not help to be weak, as well?  Assuming you're not overly biased.

Not really. Most of what was shown by MS was stuff we already knew about, they just revealed a bit more (like demos). You couldn't watch their presentation of avatars and casual games without thinking that they are playing catch up with the Wii. The only real surprise was FF13 - and that was a HELL of a surprise, don't get me wrong- but outside that it was expected games wrapped in a pretty mediocre and flat presentation.

I'd also say that MS was hamstrung by the 20G clearance sale. This is the second E3 that has passed without meeting widespread expectations of a price cut across all models. Yesterday's annoucement helped to preempt the dissapointment - we all knew it wasn't coming when the fire sale was announced- but it also stopped MS from showing off the new 60G model with, I'm guessing, more reliable innards (which would be a big red flag to consumers to not buy the unreliable 20G model).
