Where is it that you guys live that you can not Find Wii's? Most of the places that do sell it do not keep it out (I am not sure the reasoning for this?) I was in buying a PS3 game at the time and an elderly woman came into get a Wii for her Grandson I did not see any Wii's out and I assumed they were out but to my suprise Gamestop keeps them in the back. They said they had plenty I just saw the same thing at a Wal-mart last week? I really have not been looking too hard since I have a Wii already but I did notice they still have Gamecubes sitting on shelves too and maybe some retailers want those to leave first?
Although I can not speak for everywhere of corse... If it is still that far behind in production Nintendo will have to outsource because there is a small window they have before the 360 and PS3 will match the control style of the Wii and even though the fun factor is cool 3rd party titles have been less than good
