This annoucement is staged to steal Microsoft's thunder. Nintendo knew about the XBox's motion controller. They know it'll be demoed at E3 in a few hours. So Nintendo annouces their own 1 to 1 controller beforehand.
IMO, this confirms that the XBox wiimote is real, and is 1 to 1.
